BLS for Healthcare Providers Online Part 1 presents cognitive information through a series of case-based scenarios, videos and interactive exercises. Upon successful completion of part 1, including the online written test, a Part 1 Certificate of Completion is available for you to print. This certificate must then be presented for Parts 2 and 3, the hands-on skills practice and testing session with our American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Instructor. Students will receive an AHA BLS Providers Course Completion card, upon successful completion of all three parts.

The BLS course content include key changes in basic life support science from the 2015 AHA Guidelines for CPR & ECC, critical concepts of high-quality CPR, the AHA Chain of Survival, 1-Rescuer CPR/AED for Adult/Child/Infant, 2-Rescuer CPR/AED for Adult/Child/Infant, differences between Adult, Child and Infant rescue techniques, bag-mask techniques for Adult, Child and Infant, rescue breathing for Adult, Child and Infant, relief of choking for Adult, Child and Infant, CPR with an advanced airway- introduction to the compression/ventilation rate and ratio for a patient who has an advanced airway in place.
Continuing Education credit units are available for the California Board of Registered Nursing, Dental Board of California, California Department of Public Health and California Emergency Medical Services Authority.
